In early 2009, the first-ever, international Open
Breaking Circuit (OBC) began where anyone, regardless of age, gender,
race or previous martial arts experience, can learn and successfully
compete in speed brick breaking, the amazing sport demonstrated on
NBC’s America’s Got Talent and The Today Show, and featured in many
martial arts magazines and websites around the world. Sponsored by the
hugely popular World Speed Brick Breaking Association (WSBBA), the
Open Breaking Circuit is the qualifying organization for membership
and ranking in the WSBBA. The OBC willl be hosting and
sanctioning many venues to allow individuals to develop in this
exciting new sport.
Level 1 Breaking of 10 bricks in 10 seconds or less
is required to compete in the OBC. The current overall world
record time for Level 1 is held by Black Belt Ben Myers with a
recorded time of 2.1 seconds. The Underbelt Record is held by
Mr. Brian Bliskey with a time of 2.16 seconds.
